Healthcare Technology Company Diagnotes Secures Funding to Drive Growth

INDIANAPOLIS – Diagnotes, an Indianapolis-based company focused on healthcare communication and collaboration, today announced it has raised a new round of funding with participation from Elevate Ventures, IU Ventures and Purdue Ventures.

Diagnotes provides a suite of cloud-based collaboration tools to help healthcare professionals communicate with one another, patients and caregivers. The platform can be accessed from any mobile device or browser. During the pandemic, Diagnotes has been used for virtual patient visits and clinical rounds, minimizing contact between healthcare professionals and COVID-19 patients.

“The Diagnotes platform puts the patient at the center of communication between and among clinicians, the patient and patient family members,” said Bill McConnell, an experienced healthcare executive who represents Elevate on the Diagnotes board of directors. “Elevate’s continuing investment will enable Diagnotes to scale as it takes this differentiated platform to the healthcare market.”

The company was founded in 2010 by CEO Dave Wortman, Bharath Bynagari and Todd Saxton. Wortman said the company was started based on poor personal experiences with communication within the healthcare system.

Diagnotes serves over 78,000 users in hospitals, healthcare systems and independent physician groups across the country, including Indiana University Health, the state’s largest health system.

Wortman said the funding will help Diagnotes expand sales and marketing and grow its base of clients across the United States. The company recently hired a chief commercial officer who is now engaged to drive that growth.

“We are very proud of the accomplishments that the Diagnotes team has had in serving healthcare systems across the U.S. and addressing the critical problem of communication and collaboration in healthcare,” said Wortman. “We’re pleased to have a strong base of investors supporting us. With their help, along with the encouragement of our clients, we know there are great things ahead for Diagnotes.”
