Chelsea Marburger Joins Elevate Ventures

INDIANAPOLIS  Chelsea Marburger has joined Elevate Ventures to expand Elevate Nexus, an Elevate Ventures program that supports entrepreneurs and higher education institutions throughout the state. In the new position of program manager for university initiatives, Marburger will provide strategic support and build deeper relationships with the 17 existing partner universities. She also will expand Elevate Nexus to additional colleges and universities.

Elevate Ventures manages Indiana’s 21st Century Research and Technology Fund, investing venture capital in startup and early stage companies with potential to grow quickly. Elevate also mentors entrepreneurs through experts with real-world experience in growing companies.

Launched in 2019, Elevate Nexus, reaches toward potential entrepreneurs by offering programs and funding to higher education institutions and their communities and entrepreneurs.

Marburger brings non-profit, entrepreneurial and higher education experience to the position. Most recently, she was executive director of the Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood Association in Indianapolis, where she served a community of 16,000 people.

While assistant director of state programs at Complete College America, Marburger led higher education conferences across 13 states. She also founded Project Purse Indianapolis, a 501(c)(3) organization that provided purses packed with toiletries, feminine hygiene, first aid and more to over 10,000 vulnerable women throughout central Indiana.

“Chelsea’s background with strategic planning and working with higher education institutions will be a huge asset to Elevate Nexus programming,” said Landon Young, executive director of university initiatives at Elevate Ventures. “I look forward to her perspectives as we refine our processes and strengthen our network.”

Marburger said she will evaluate Elevate Nexus programming and provide strategic input to further empower high-quality Indiana startups.

“I have nearly a decade worth of experience in the non-profit world in which fundraising and stewardship are of the utmost importance,” said Marburger. “I empathize with the journey of the entrepreneur and always provide high-level stewardship. I think my ability to zoom in or out on a particular topic will allow our team to deliver the best possible programming to our entrepreneurs on a large scale.”
