March 6, 2014 - South Bend, Ind. — Vennli, a privately held, Indiana-based software company and recognized thought leader focused on driving organizations to create, plan, and execute growth strategies, announced today it has secured over $1.3 million in financing. The company has built a software program that centers on building strategic and tactical plans for growth in specific markets using customer and competitor choice analysis. Joe Urbany, a University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business Professor, created the original intellectual property upon which the Vennli software is based.

February 6, 2014 -- bookacoach (www.bookacoach.com), an online service marketplace for sports lessons in the U.S., today announced that it has raised $250k in venture capital financing, bringing total investments into the company to $450k. Inside Indiana Business Indiana Angel Fund Paying Off

September 20, 2013 - The Indiana Angel Network Fund (the Fund) reached a major milestone with a realized annual return of more than 150 percent from its very first investment. The returns, which benefit the state of Indiana and its taxpayers, were reached within 18 months of launching the Fund. The Indiana Angel Network Fund is a seed and early-stage co-investment program under the U.S. Department of Treasury's State Small Business Credit Initiative managed by Elevate Ventures in partnership with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. The Fund is dedicated to supporting and investing in innovative businesses with high growth potential in Indiana. The Fund uses a capital-plus-assistance model through utilization of Entrepreneurs-in-Residence. It currently has two sub-programs that focus on women and minority businesses as well as underserved geographic areas.

June 20, 2013 - Established as a nonprofit, Elevate rolled a number of existing angel investor groups under its roof and also set up its own fund, tapping as its “limited partners” banks, drug companies, chambers of commerce, real estate groups and a wide range of other contributors. The end result was a $34 million-plus fund with $3 in private capital for every $1 in public funds. During 2012, Elevate invested $6 million in 13 Indiana startups, according to its first annual report.

Indy Star State fund launches to invest in businesses owned by women, minorities, veterans

June 4, 2013 - A new state program aims to bolster promising businesses owned by women, minorities and veterans in need of investment. The Indiana Diversity Investment Fund, launched Tuesday, will provide capital to the businesses as well as link them with private investors, according to Elevate Ventures, a nonprofit organization that administers venture capital funds for the state of Indiana. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. is also coordinating the fund.

June 4, 2013 - The Indiana Economic Development Corp. is launching a $1 million investment fund targeting businesses owned by women, minorities or veterans that have high growth potential. The fund will be a subprogram of the Indiana Angel Network, a seed and early-stage program that’s part of the U.S. Department of Treasury’s State Small Business Credit Initiative.
